Coupons… lots and lots of coupons. Use them .. don’t be ashamed. Compare prices before you buy …. everyone looks and you can probably find a deal somewhere else. Eat in the cafes. They are usually cheaper and the food is great. Walk if at all possible. Taxis can eat up your money fast. If you need to buy anything .. do not buy it at the hotel … there are Walgreens and CVS pharmacies right on the strip. Buy there .. especially water …. hotels will gauge you. Look for free shuttles if you want to travel off the strip .. don’t be afraid to ask.

It seems unlikely that a city could spring up in the middle of the desert, much less a city of such energy, color and non-stop entertainment that it attracts upwards of 35 million visitors every year, but no one ever said that Las Vegas was normal. It’s not even very predictable, meaning that it seems to exist in a state of constant movement and change. In other words, even if you’ve been to this sparkling and somewhat hypnotic destination before, another visit could reveal an entirely different experience altogether.

So whether it’s your first time or your twenty first, there’s no possible way that you’ll suffer even one minute of boredom while you’re here. From golf to shopping, shows to, of course, casino hopping, there’s just no chance for a dull moment to arise. Many people come here to relax but end up avoiding the typical rejuvenating scenarios like sleeping a lot and lounging around. Instead, Las Vegas travelers tend to recharge their batteries by playing, partying and distracting their minds from work and responsibility by means of constant stimulation. This works just as well as the other brands of vacation you’ve so far experienced; curiously, you just don’t need as much sleep when you’re in this town.

If you want to get your poker or slot machine fix, you can approach it one of two ways. Either research a little bit, choosing the places that most appeal to you based on their history or decorative scheme (which could range from high-class to schmaltzy) or if you’re more of an adventurer, just hit the strip. There’s always some show or another going on here, from traveling acts to traditional favorites. Plan your trip to coincide with a concert of your favorite band, who’s likely been here more than once, or stop by one of the nightly shows filled with acrobatic wonders, feathery fun, or dancing extravaganzas. Las Vegas is all about the concept of the spectacle, and what better way to enjoy this than by settling into a plush chair before a brightly lit stage?

Those of you with a wild side will be faced with a number of temptations, so be ready for anything from an impromptu wedding to a karaoke challenge. Some people end up staying up all night winning and losing money, others would probably prefer not to say what it was that kept them awake until the break of dawn. No matter what you plan (or don’t plan), Las Vegas will end up grabbing hold of you and won’t let go until you’re totally oblivious of the stress that usually plagues you. Book your flight, reserve your Las Vegas Vacation Rental, and prepare yourself for the unexpected. Actually, you can count on one thing; you’re going to be glad you chose to make it a Vegas vacation.

I want to take my mother to Las Vegas for her birthday, as she’s a big fan of CSI-LV and Cirque Du Soleil; besides she always has wanted to go, and now I have the chance to take her. I’ve been to Las Vegas several times on conventions and on business, and usually I’ve stayed at the Mirage. I like it, but I don’t know if that’s the best hotel to pick for this trip. Caesars looks nice, but I would really like different points of view about hotels on the strip.
I’ve been looking at Yahoo! Travel and Expedia, and most vacation packages are around $2,100.00. I’m thinking about spending $4,000.00 including hotel+flight+expenses.
My mom is 64, but really she looks more like 54. We’re not interested in gambling; however I’m sure that we will each spend some time in the casino floor. No point about going to LV and not dropping a quarter in a slot machine.
It’s kind of the vacation my dad couldn’t give my mom, and now I have the chance to do it. We definitely have to do Ka or O, as I pointed out she’s a big Cirque Du Soleil fan.

If money is no object then I would go with either, one of the new towers at Caesars Palace, or the Venetian. I prefer either to the Bellagio or Wynn

If you’re looking for a very nice 4 star hotel that’s "generally" the best value, try the Luxor.

When is your Mom’s birthday? Is she 40ish or 70something? What amenities are you most interested in? Do you have a price range in mind(room $$$)? – If you will "add details" to your Q. We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more and have for over 20 years.

Later:I would need to know when you plan to go, and how many nights you need? Rates vary greatly. Or tell me if you’re willing to be flexible, such as, some time in June , July, etc if you can do that I’m sure you could get a much better deal.

Much later: for any of the Cirque shows you will want to buy the tickets as far in advance as possible(60 days) to get good seats. IMHO the best seats are not the ones near the stage, if you get seats further back and in the center, you will be able to take in everything that’s going on.

This hotel is right in the middle of the spotlight of the Las VegasStrip, Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino boasts world class shopping, greatrestaurants, and wonderful entertainment for all of its hotel and casino patrons. It was imploded in 1998, then completely rebuilt from the ground up.

Number Two on my list: The Stratosphere hotel and casino

The stratosphere tower is the tallest observation center in the whole United States. The casino is over 80,000 square feet, its one of the biggest casinos located in the city of Sin.. Be sure to check it out.

Number Three on my list: The Excalibur hotel and casino

When you arrive at the Excalibur hotel and casino, you are treated like royalty with gifts fit enough for a king. The 1000 remodeled guest rooms at the Excalibur,, offer plenty of upgraded amenities including being fitted with a 45 inch lcd TV.

Number Four on my list : The Luxor Hotel and Casino

This las Vegas hotel is a Vegas vacation in it self. The casino is more than 100,000 square feet, its one of las Vegas largest. With over 2,000 slot and video machines, and plenty of table games for you to gamble the night away..

Number Five on my list: Treasure Island

Treasure Island was once known as the kid friendly resort. Now it features two nightclubs. The Christian audigier and the more popular Mist. It has one outdoor pool and a 50 person Jacuzzi.

We are planning a trip to Las Vegas and Grand Canyon – South Rim. Need Suggestions for interesting points and activities we can do. We have 2 yr old son with us.
Which is the best place on south rim to see sunrise and sunset respectively?

I spent allot of time in Las Vegas my suggestion for you will be go to circus circus. They have the coolest things and it is geared towards the kids. Also go to Fremont street at dark and enjoy the light show they have that is really fun. Las Vegas also has a great place right on the strip last time I was there it was shaped like a coke bottle you can go shopping in there ans see a movie but the movies are accompanied by moving seats so you feel like you are actually in the movie as well. The imperial palace has a wonderful car museum. Hoover dam is like 8 miles away and kids really love going there too. Not to far away (I don’t remember exactly where there is a Flintstones park that is allot of fun for kids. London bridge is also there fairly close that would be fun.

The Grand Canyon probably wont be as fun to the little guy as there is not much to see that will appeal to him. I have actually been to both the north ans south rim of it. I enjoyed it cause it was beautiful. There is also the Painted desert in AZ that is great especially at dusk. The petrified forest is also in AZ you cant pick up any of the wood there but you can buy some from the gift shop. Again this wont be to fun for the little guy but will enable you to buy him souvenirs for when he gets older. and I would take lots of pictures for him!!
